Dr. Marie Higel earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Colorado State University in 2007, and is very excited to join the team at Animal Care Group of Lake Oswego, Parkway Veterinary Hospital.
Dr. Higel is originally from Arizona and has always had a love for animals and a passion for veterinary medicine. She earned her degree in veterinary science from the University of Arizona in 2003, and has worked in the veterinary field since high school. Her special skills and interests include small animal soft tissue surgery, laparoscopic surgery, and she’s a Certified Veterinary Acupuncturist. She enjoys participating in continuing education opportunities every year, to ensure she’s providing the most current medical care for her patients. Dr. Higel is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, and is pursuing more involvement with international volunteer work.
She has loved living in Oregon since 2007 and enjoys traveling, cooking, nature photography, and all the beaches, rivers, lakes and beautiful landscapes the Northwest has to offer. Outside of work, Dr. Higel spends as much time as she can with her husband, two kids, and their adorable dog named Stormy.
